A few years back we gave some stuff to purple heart. Since then they call quite frequently and ask us for more stuff. I am a big fan of the clutter free life so iusually come up with something to get rid of when they call. This time it was the baby swing that was given to us and we really have no room for this big baby swing. Taking it down and moving it around would be a problem in our tiny house so it sat in our basement searching for a home. We asked a few pre parents, but most of them replied with the standard," So &So's parents/relatives/neighbor etc. wants to buy us everything." I really do not understand the concept of people buying so much junk for their newborn. It really makes no sense and half of it winds up floating around from parent to parent sometimes barely being used and then to the trash (c'mon people) or the thrift store (there you go). That brings us back to our neat baby swing left out for purple heart. Our steps are not that big so I was waiting for them to arrive before navigating our stroller around the baby swing. I waited for until around 9:30 and then looked out on the steps and on the baby swing was left the purple heart note. They give you a little note I guess for tax purposes and this was sitting on the swing as though it was a dear baby swing letter. I can only assume that given the condition of the baby swing ( seriously this thing was barely used and has a remote) they simply figured it was not for them. Now i still have a baby swing for free (check philly craigslist) outside. If you need it grab it.
