Baseball

This week has been very long. Lots of things seemed to go on. Daddydom threw the first ethical curveball my way. When i became a father i noticed things were in a different perspective almost like a pause and thought "how would i tell milo what i thought of something and remain consistent." This is difficult with what happened in baseball.
Barry Bonds made sports history and i am not sure how i feel about the whole issue. It seeems to me that either he used some sort of growth enhancing product or just did loads of upper body and face stretching exercises. Living in the Philadelphia area the local sports commentators are really angry about this record being broken by a "cheater". I don't really know if what he was doing was cheating. If Major league baseball does not test for these type of explosive growth "enhancement products" is that really cheating? Now i really do not have a good reference, since the philly sports guys are as frustrated as most ED men were before viagra, but is it? Is it cheating to utilize something that was not availiable to people who broke the record? What if Bonds had surgery that was not availiable a few years back, would that be cheating? Who wouldn't want a few years on the back end of a sports career? He is only human ( maybe he is working on that one) so why blame him for wanting to go after a record. He seemed to improve after he got older, but hand eye coordination is a skill that stays with you as you get older.

What should i tell milo? Should i tell him that he hit more home runs than anyone else because he used something that gave him an unfair advantage, but wasn't discouraged by the people around him? He did something that helped bring attention to MLB and his own career in a very greedy selfish manner and should be applauded? I guess this is a reason for the problem with a guy like Bonds, you can't tell your child to be like him. Strive for things and get them at any cost, your health, integrity, be famous and your problems will go away. MLB really messed this one up, they should have done something about this. This record is sacred not that it should never have been broken, but it is in my opinion the biggest record of all time in baseball. How many people know who has the most triples? If this is a tainted record MLB would look very stupid. Matbe someone else will break this record and i won't have to worry about that one. Now on to the fact my wife and i enjoy the music of, Nirvana, Sublime, Jimi Hendrix, Janice Joplin, Evan Dando, Billie Holliday..........
